During our first FOSEP happy hour of the academic year, we were discussing and brainstorming about science, ethics and policy events (seminars, discussion groups, etc). Specifically, we wanted to have central access to notifications of these types of events of happening in and around campus as broadcasting to these connected communities the seminars, discussions, and other meetings we plan to hold throughout the year. While we have some interesting ideas and I hope to be implementing some of them soon, I wanted to bring to everyone’s attention a series of lectures sponsored by the Pacific Science Center that are currently underway. One talk that seems of particular interest will be Roger Pielke, Repairing Climate Policy. This talk will be on Monday October 18th, from 7:30-9:00 PM at the Town Hall and admission is $5. While it cannot be discerned if the speaker is Roger Pielke Sr. or Jr., they both appear to work in connected realms of climate science and climate change policy and this should provide a nice additional perspective to our past FOSEP events.
